last weekend

last weekend was a fun-filled one. my family celebrated my kuya noel's 33rd birthday. gosh he's old! hahaha! i went with my office friends to tagaytay hoping the weather there would be much colder than in manila. but i was disappointed. i was sweating profusely. my friends insisted it was due to my excessive energy but i disagree! :p

i also met up with my HS kada to celebrate the birthday of Tita Lucy, my friend's mom . as well as my friend's successful passing of her US Licensure Exam for teachers.. Oh no, another kada going to the States.. They're all moving there.. Huhuhu! Another crazy night with my girls!

sobrang nakakahiya talaga. bakit kasi kelangan pang pakinggan ang kanta?! sinabi ko na ngang sana palitan ang kanta, nakatanggap pa ko ng ganitong sagot, "bakit affected ka?" OO. Affected ako. Di hamak. Ang sana'y dinner kasama ng aking kaibigan ay hindi na natuloy dahil hindi ko na napigilan ang pagtulo ng luha. sa harap niya. pinili ko nalang umuwi upang iwasang magpaliwanag. at dahil coding ako, para akong tangang sumuot sa isang lugar na hindi ko kabisado ang daan. hayun. iyak ako ng iyak sa sasakyan. naliligaw na nga ako, umiiyak pa ko dahil sa kanta. ano ba! totoong-totoo. swak na swak.

at dahil nakita ako ng kaibigan kong umiiyak, nakatanggap pa ako ng text message na ganito, "Hi, fefs! Apology 4 wat we'v done. Nagcrying moment k p. Tym wil tel wat u rily feel deep insyd..." Potek. Alam ko naman eh kung ano nararamdaman ko. Alam ko rin nararamdaman niya. Yun ang masakit. Hanggang kaibigan lang talaga. Sabi nga ng aking honey, "nakakapagod na ang parang yoyong kalokohan na ito.." =(

sobrang nakakapagod ang araw na ito, puro problema sa trabaho. ngunit lahat ng ito ay napawi mg makatanggap ako ng mensahe sa aking cellphone na naglalaman ng, "...swerte bestfrend mo sau..." hindi ba't nakakataba ng puso ang masabihan na isa kang mabuting kaibigan?

mahigit isang taon ko na ring kilala ang nagpadala sa akin ng mensahe. araw-araw kaming nagkikwentuhan, nag-aasaran, magkasama, magkatabi. masasabi kong madami na akong nalalaman tungkol sa kanya pero ngayong gabi ko lang talaga siya totoong nakilala. ang dami naming napag-usapan at napagkwentuhan. nakakatuwang isipin na hindi lamang puro biruan, asaran at lokohan ang aming pagkakaibigan. nasa punto na kami kung san malalalim na usapan, lihim at problema ang kaya naming ibahagi sa isa't-isa.

kung ako man ang tatanungin, madali makipag-usap kahit kanino pero nag-iiba ang lebel ng inyong pagkakaibigan sa lalim ng inyong usapan. kung puro lokohan, asaran at tawanan lang, hindi mo lubusang naibabahagi ang iyong sarili. hindi mo lubusang nakikilala ang iyong mga nakakahalubilo. lahat naman ng tao maaring itago ang kanilang sarili sa maskara ng isang ngiti hindi ba? natutuwa ako at nalampasan na namin ang lebel ng asaran o mabababaw na usapan at chismisan, andun na kami sa kung saan ang aming totoong sarili na ang aming ipinapakita.

gusto ko ng ganito. yung alam kong nakahanap ako ng isang tunay na kaibigan na maasahan ko kasi alam kong tinuturing din niya ako bilang isa. eh ano kung nasa gitna kami ng maulang oval? kung puro gamu-gamo at lamok sa paligid? cowboy naman ako eh. kahit saan pwedeng dalhin. kaladkarin kumbaga. ang mahalaga naman sakin ay kung sino ang kasama ko at ang aming kwentuhan.

natutuwa lang ako pag alam kong "napag-open up" ko na ang tao sa akin. makakaasa naman na lahat ng lihim na nais ipatago sakin ay hinding-hindi na lalabas eh. sabi ko nga, basta kelangan ako, ng kasama, o ng karamay, sabihan lang agad ako. pwede rin akong tawagan sa aking private landline! hahaha! kung alam mo ito, ibig sabihin, komportable akong ibigay sayo ang numero ko.. =)

madami akong kaibigan as in.. pero iilan lang talaga dun ang pinagkakatiwalaan ko at pinagpakitaan ko na ng totoong ako.. sana madagdagan pa iyon... sana masa madami pang tambay sessions tulad ng kanina, tipong one-on-one at heart-to-heart =)

Canada Trip (very long post)

As promised, my next entry would be that of my Canadian trip. And here it is.
For everyone who has known me for quite some time, they'd be able to tell you that I'm such a daddy's little girl. Spoiled (but not rotten) by my dear parents. I never did anything for myself because they were always there to do it for me. But this trip had taught me a lot and the biggest lesson of all was Independence.

I remember whenever we travel, all I had to do with the documents like embarkation card et al, was to sign my signature. My mom would end up filling everything out for me. Imagine my panic when I was not sure what answer I would place on the boxes. I also never packed for myself and my goodness, the stuff I brought from here + ALL those I bought from there were just left lying on the floor, unpacked. Packing is still something I cannot do properly. Good thing my tita was there to help me out. She's the best packer known to man, imagine she was able to pack a ceiling fan inside a luggage a few years ago? But I'm digressing. I had to fend for myself a lot when I was there. No one woke me up, fixed my itinerary, bought stuff for me, but me. Days and weeks before my departure, I was really a fret! On the way to the airport, Mommy was still giving a lot of instructions on the WHATs and the WHATnots. Up until I have safely passed Philippine Customs, my parents were waiting outside the airport.

Imagine my happiness when I arrived in Hong Kong for a 3-hour layover! I was happily texting my kabarkada to tell her I was in HK already! I made it (although that was like 1/8 of the leg) but nevertheless, I was there. Another worry that came to me though was when the Pilot announced that as we were refuelling in Alaska, we had to disembark! I was a bit worried for my US visa expired in 2005 and I haven't renewed it yet. But then it was not a problem at all for they had a list of the passengers on board and we weren't going out of the airport anyways.

Upon arrival at Terminal 3 of the airport in Toronto, I was again a nervous wreck for I normally don't speak during immigration and customs check. Usually, I was just my parents' shadow ( iba ang meaning ng shadow dito ha... alam kong may hihirit sakin pag nabasa ito.. nefifeel ko na.. hahaha! :p ) But this time, it was all me. So I fell in line. When I saw the Officer stationed at my queue, I panicked. And guess why?! Because he was so cute! And I might get tongue tied and forget my well-rehearsed speech like why I was visiting Canada or something to that effect. Lucky and unfortunately for me, Mr. Gwapo Officer's shift ended with the person before me. Mr. Average Officer was the one who interviewed me, so I got my accent and confidence back! Nakakahinayang lang at nawala ang chance magpacute! :P

My cousin Sue and her best friend Marija picked me up from the airport, and the rest as they say is history. It's very hard to fully share EVERY event, anecdote and funny experiences I had while I was there. But one thing's for sure though, I had FUN! I was able to spend time with my family there, who all treated me as their own. I miss them already. But another cousin is getting married in around 2 years, and guess who's willing to brave the 24 hour travel again to be there?! ME of course!

On a side note, Mommy arrived last Monday and that was the first time I saw her since June 30. She also had a tremendous time with her South American tour. When she asked me, "So now that you can travel alone, internationally, would you?" I replied, "Of course! Mana ata ako sayo.." I just hope I have a financier like her! Hahahaha!

nonsense post

i hate silence. it's when i get to think alot. my programs are currently running. i'm on a different floor. work si more.

funny how irony works at the most unexpected time. last june 30, i was on a plane ride to canada, where i spent 2 weeks of heaven (i'll create a different and more detailed entry on this). lasty july 30, i was sent to a different floor unexpectedly. and my world changed.

imagine that in a month's time, drastic changes happened. *sigh* one was filled with happiness, peace, serenity (big girls don't cry! yeah! =P) the other, STRESS! sana this week lang...

but now that i'm surrounded with silence, i get to think.

a couple of entries ago, sometime last year, i shared a question asked to me by our daddy dba. daddy dba and i always talk through our internal messenger. i've shared quite a lot of things to him and vice-versa (kaya nga i'm praying na hindi siya malasing, baka madaming maibunyag!). we were again discussing my current lovelife state. he was asking me how i am doing. and i told him that i'm very very confused. guess what he said in reply?! "wear the sorting hat. it might help!" hahaha! ang corny!

i thought going away for a few weeks would clear up mymind. make things clearer. make choices easier. one choice is clear though, A is STILL the one. but that is not an option! so in the end, i'm still back to where i was before i left, in shambles! if only i can choose B, its easier and much more convenient! Hahaha!

anyway, i can't wait till the 2 long weekends of the month. i'll update about my canada trip next... =)
