viva las vegas!

i am currently at my uncle's house in las vegas killing time till my flight to new jersey tonight...

i had a blast in las vegas.. went to watch lani misalucha and the society of seven's show at the Bally's. guys, i truly recommend this one! we also watched lance burton's magic show since my dad's a magic addict! hehe!

my parents and i stayed at the monte carlo resort our first night, which was may 24 and for the following nights till this morning, we stayed at the bellagio resort! (astig man! pang ocean's eleven! hehe!) Las Vegas is much different now since i was last here in 1998. still tired and jet lagged but have no choice since we can't waste time sleeping... it might take me quite a while to use the net again, since the following week will be truly hectic! err... only one thing hindered us from fully enjoying las vegas, and that was because PAL left my dad's luggage in manila! we had to wait for two days for it to arrive! so imagine my dad, sporting shirts from las vegas hotels! hahaha! and for his pj's, he had to borrow my mom's capri pants! funny!

beach bum

kararating ko lang mula sa boracay kagabi. masaya doon. umitim ako. tumaba din dahil kain ng kain. namulubi sa mahal ng mga gastusin! dadalawa lang kami ng aking kabarkada sapagkat nag-backout ang iba namin mga kaibigan. ang isa ay hindi nakapagliban sa opisina (kapag may trabaho na kasi ang hirap! haha! kaya ako wala pa!), ang isa naman ay hindi pinayagan ng kanyang mga magulang, ang isa ay ayaw sumama. kaysa iurong pa namin ni ria ang bakasyong ito, itinuloy na namin kahit kami lamang. masaya naman eh nagawan namin ng paraan.

isa lang masasabi ko: NOGNOG! hindi na nga raw ako makita ng aking magulang sa dilim. hehe. nakaktawa. pero may nakakatakot na karanasan kami. diba biglang umulan ng malakas kagabi? ang aming maliit na seair airplane ay pumasok sa gitna ng thunderstorm na iyon. buti na lang kamo ay naka-seatbelt ako dahil tumalsik kaming lahat paitaas. grabeng sakit sa tiyan. halos masuka na ako. pinapaypayan na nga ako ni ria sapagkat hindi ako makahinga sa takot. gayunpaman, may nakakatawang nangyari. ang lalaki sa harap ko hindi nakasuot ng seatbelt kaya nauntog siya sa overhead compartment. hehe! lahat ng mga pasahero ay dinaan na lamang sa tawa at pangloloko ang nakakatakot na karanasan na iyon.

sa kotse nga pauwi ibinabalita ang bumagsak na interisland cargo plane dahil sa biglang pagbulusok ng ulan. laking pasasalamat namin at nakaligtas kami kundi baka kami na ang ibinabalita doon. haay.

kung gusto niyo makita ang mga larawan, ito ay nasa aking multiply account. yun nga lang dapat contact kita para makita mo iyon.. hehe!

paalam na. kinukulit ako ni mommy na magpack na para sa US trip namin next week... err.. next week pa nga eh... owelz baka pagalitan ako...

musings on life in the province

i've always thought that provinces were a little left behind when it comes to their way of thinking... my parents grew up in provinces thereby they are conservative about a lot of things but from the way i've observed my cousins i spent time with in brgy. laurel, tagkawayan, quezon, they apparently are NOT.

case in point: my cousin patricia.she is just 12 years old, turning 13 in june and yet she had 7 boyfriends already, all legal with her parents! right now she's balancing 2 relationships.
she drinks beer spec. redhorse long neck with her parents and uncles!
she occasionally smokes!

case in point #2: my auntie chrys
she's 14 years old (why she's my auntie is a very long story) and yet she has a boyfriend since she was 9!
she also smokes!she also drinks!

i'm just amazed at the idea of people this young already into these things! and i thought people in manila live in a fast-paced world! haha!

enweiz, i had a lot of fun in the province. the fiesta is a 9day affair starting last may 3 and ending last night, may 11. the fiesta itself was on may 11 starting with a mass, then games the whole day and ending with a dance. well dances were a nightly thing since the whole affair started. on each night, bingo was played and there are contests scheduled for different nights, such as a dance contest, a ms. gay contest, and an amateur singing contest. there were also 20- minute fireworks for the last two nights! my uncle, his brother and sisters were this year's hermana mayor, or the sponsors of the fiesta... next year, it'll be my mom's turn. tsk tsk tsk since mom is an only child, she will carry the burden of paying for everything. hekhek! enweiz, i spent a lot of time with my cousins laughing and just making fun of people (yeah we're baaad!).

pa-cool pa kasi siya... he approached my cousin saying, "WAT your name?" okaay... bad na kung bad but it was hilarious!

enweiz, just got back kaya decided to write an entry. imagine doon walang signal ng cell, walang telephone at walang tv! hahaha! nabuhay ako without all those! now, heto net agad... cge gotta rest muna... sa saturday, boracay naman ako with HS kada... a bum's life talaga! sarraaaap! :D

of turnovers and being in cable car

the weeks that passed since my last entry had me on my toes but these stuff shouldn't be dwelt upon... i will just focus my energies on the events that transpired yesterday.

melbs and i were asked by jake a couple of weeks ago if we could help with the turnover of the computers to PLMar for BAL. we were asked to take care of the decorations. so yesterday, melbs and i went to national to buy 20 pieces of balloons. it would have been okay if there were an available parking space at national but since there was none, we had no choice but park in ateneo. so imagine us 20 minutes late, holding 10 balloons each walking at the overpass... 20 yellow and blue balloons crossing katipunan, we got a lot of attention indeed. when we have finally made the 20 ballons, well actually 19 coz one burst, we were on our way to the caf to meet up with jake and japox. we talked for a bit, double-checking each item we needed as well as waiting for abby to arrive. abby arrived shortafter and the topic of lunch was discussed. with lunch agreed on, yum yum yellow cab, we went there in 2 separate cars, with me and melbs riding with japox. once there, we all agreed to order 2 pizzas so we left the two boys to handle the orders. while the two of them were at the counter, i gave abby a taste of my "animal jokes". hehehe! i love her coz she loves my jokes! hehe! while waiting for our orders, we bonded a little. our orders arrived and so we excitedly opened our pizza boxes and to our surprise, one pizza was pepperoni flavor while the other one was peperoni and mushroom flavor. we were laughing because the only difference with our pizzas were the presence of mushrooms. but to give credit to japoz, they tasted different naman. emir arrived just in time while we were on our second slices and so he was able to eat too.

after lunch we proceeded to PLMar, had the place decorated with our balloons and banners. in fairness, we did a great job for some people who were mostly laughing while doing it. pano kasi the yellow balloons had faces tapos kung saan saan nakaharap, basta dapat andun ka to understand... other MISA people arrived then the program started and lasted for about an hour or so then it's all over. i would really want to share pixes but unfortunately, i forgot my cam... hindi pa ata na-upload nila aron eh

the evening was spent in cable car in eastwood with our HS batchmates and classmates. the text invite said it was a pre-yuppie world get together. yeah right , hindi pa naman ako magiging yuppie eh... hehehe! so enweiz, only a handful came but those who did were the people i rarely saw during college so it was fun fun tlaga! we sang videoke, what else is new, talked and had fun...our fave high school english teacher, ms.roux, was there although now she is mrs.munoz and she had her husband with her... no one could forget her because during the time when soirees weren't allowed in our school, she was the one organizing it for her students! haha! how cool is that? we still cannot get used to the fact she's married and so we kept calling her ms.roux.. she also had this ultra gwapo brother who everyone was crushing one, and she brough him along when our batch decided to watch blair witch project together! cool! so there we had fun and met some new people... since this time i have pictures to compliment the story, i'll let the pictures tell you all about it...




one thing i noticed about myself, i'm lazy to describe events when there are pictures present but can relay the story til the minutest detail when not backed by pictures! haha! :p
