commit;

i was being a geek yesterday. doing my SQL work and in the process of inserting records into a table, something happened to my screen so i had to approach our DBA and ask about it. he went to my desk, looked at the screen and said, "hala ka..." so i got scared. then he said, "hindi ok lang yan. tawagin mo ako kapag may lumabas na # of records created." so i said, "thanks sir!" after a while it stopped and the line '# of rows created.' appeared. i called our DBA to check it out. he said, "okay na yan. i-commit mo na." ever since i started, i never did the commit; statement. kasi once commit; final na yun eh. i'm scared na baka mali gawa ko tapos commit ko na. so i typed 'commit;' pero could not press enter. the DBA asked me, "oh bakit ayaw mo pa i-commit?" i replied, "everytime i hear it kasi i get scared." he said, "sige okay lng yan." and so i did.

our DBA went back to his desk, faced me and said, "intrigahin lang kita peper. takot ka ba sa commitment?" he asked me in front of a teammate/friend. my friend laughed. i laughed and said, "actually..."

from 3pm onwards, i was contemplating on that question. was i really afraid of commitments? HA! maybe.

peace of mind

it's been more than a month now since my last entry. the changes i was talking about have taken place. i've been working in soluziona for 3 weeks now and am having the time of my life. the workload isn't easy although it's bearable. i've met lots of new friends who i'm hanging out with after work. hopefully, i found the place where i belong. (naks parang GMA7)

eto na lang muna for now. nothing juicy to share just yet. although my first week in soluziona, i almost fell off my chair, tripped in front of a teammate and slipped sa hallway, in full view of the guard! hahaha! o diba? what a first week! :p
